John Jenkins
John William Jenkins, 80, of Etlan died Wednesday, Aug. 9 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Nethers. He was the son of the late Henry Pierce and Ada Blanche Coates Jenkins and husband of the late Anna Agnes Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was a well known orchardist in the surrounding counties and owner and operator of Jenkins Orchard and Farm in Etlan.
He was a member of the Thoroughfare Bible Church in Brightwood.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Karen Ruth and Paul D&niel Bitner of Hagerstown, Md. and Reva May Jenkins of Etlan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Pierce and Lora Jenkins of Knoxville, Tenn. and Dr. Harold Samuel and Doreen Jenkins of Madison; one brother, Woodrow W. Jenkins of Potomac, Md.; two sisters, Elizabeth J. Lamphier of Aroda and Lucille J. Mack of Charlottesville; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Agnes Dale Jenkins.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 12 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper. The Rev. George Johnson and the Rev. Perry Utz officiated.
