Ms. Bruce cautions that permit holders can carry a concealed handgun only within the state of Virginia, and that handguns may not be allowed in places where such possession is prohibited by law or by the owner of private property. Concealed handguns may not be carried in a national park, though if someone is driving through the park on a state road, such as from Sperryville to Luray on U.S. 211, that would be permitted as long as the driver did not enter the park.
