aggressive bats were virtually silenced by Edinburg pitcher Toby Keller, as Edinburg ran away late in the game to win 10-3. Keller pitched nine innings, allowed three runs, five hits, struck out three and walked four.
Keller out-dueled Monarch’s ace, Luther Alexander. Alexander did not pitch poorly, but, in a game where neither pitcher was getting very many called strikes, the patie'nt Edinburg hitters frequently forced Alexander deep in the count. Conversely, Keller got eight Monarchs out on the first pitch.
