Warren Memorial Hospital has acquired one of the most advanced cataract extraction systems currently available, upgrading the hospital’s cataract surgery capabilities.
The new Alcon Surgical equipment uses ultrasonic vibration to break a cataract into fragments before removing them from the eye. This process, called phacoemulsification, can reduce discomfort after surgery and provide faster rehabilitation than other surgical techniques.
