As he ponders his future Scott says he is interested in dcfing "something scientific." He said he is particularly attracted to the field of biology. His interest was sparked by work on his family's farm where embryological work on catde is going on.
Donor cows are treated to cause them to release several eggs, Scott explained. The eggs are fertilized and after some days a veterinarian examines them and selects some to be implanted in recipient cows. "That way a good cow can have several calves in a year and the genetics is passed on to the next generation," Scott said.
Scott is planning to apply to Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Harvey Mudd, MIT and Cal Tech. The last two, he said, "are just a hope."
