James Thompson

James Robert,Thompson, 84, of Front Royal, died Sunday, Oct. 13 at MontVue Nursing Home in Luray.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Oct. 16 at First Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Greg Amos.

Burial was in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Thompson was bom Dec. 7, 1911, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Robert N. and Sara North Thompson.

He was a retired custodian for Warren County public schools and a retired farmer.

He was a member for 47 years of First Assembly of God Church in Front Royal and the husband of the late Virgia Wood Thompson.

Surviving are a son, Joe Allen Thompson of West Virginia; two adopted daughters, Gina Ree Riley and Jackie Catlin Thompson Lake, both of Front Royal; three foster sons, Michael Bynaker of Virginia, Donald Bynaker of Florida, and Kevin Catline of Georgia; a foster daughter, Tina Kelly Smith of Pennsylvania; two sister, Blanche Miles of Baltimore, Md., and Cathleen Simons of Hagerstown, Md.; five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Ray Riley, Michael Anthony Riley, Sam Smith Sr., Jackie Bernard, Dorman Groves Jr. and Philip Hunt.
