Snead

From Page A-l

She said of it, "You have to love children and love teaching. If I hadn't loved it I would rather have scrubbed floors.”

She did many other things for the children of this county such as the dental health program which provided dental services to the county's children who needed it for free.

Mrs. Snead once said, "I came to believe that good teachers are bom and that no amount of training can equal the instinct of a natural teacher."

Many have said of her that she was not only one of the best educators they ever knew but that she taught an outlook on life as well.

She said of her profession, "It's one thing to teach young people to make a living. It's quite another to teach them how to lead productive lives."

Her lessons will live on in Rappahannock's citizens, whom she taught, and in their children as lessons well learned and passed down.
