It's beginning to look as though there might be another big increase in property taxes this year to finance Rappahannock County school.
I think most people agree that the primary goal of schools should be giving children a quality education. There are many ways to accomplish this without spending an additional dime.
Here are some suggestions:
1. Parents must demand that teachers assign more homework.
Parents who are serious about getting a quality education for their children should attend the next PTA meeting and demand that their children be given more homework. If your high school student isn't spending at least two hours each night doing homework, your child is being shortchanged. Small homework assignments should start being given in the first grade. ,
