One third prize award went to Marni Rothschild for her photograph "Abandoned House." Miss Rothschild also has two other photographs in the show, "Deserted Warehouse" and "Storm Sky Harrisonburg."
Another third prize went to Norika Hoge's charming "HumanBird Teapot." one of three pieces of her pottery included in the show.
The other third prize award went to Chris Stephens for "Still Life with Egg." Again this was one of a trio of small sculptures, the others "Still Life With Pear" and "Still Life With Apple."
There is much of the feeling of the January "Whimsey" show in many of the selections for the "Small" Show. Gary D. Colson's "(The Little) Woman on a Pedestal" and B.J. Harlan’s trio of drawings of ants: "Anthem," "Antigravity" and "Antisocial" particularly carry through this feeling.
Other works primarily satisfy the requirement of physical smallness. Barbara Sherwood's colorful small paintings "Summer Garden" and "Lavender Field," are examples of that. Mrs. Sherwood's son Arlen is the subject of Robin Purnell's one work in this show, a portrait titled "Arlen dreams of Nantucket."
