The leading cause of forest fires in Virginia continues to be debris burning. The shift in the effective dates of the 4 p.m. Burning Law will regulate debris burning during periods of higher fire danger.

The 4 p.m. Burning Law is one of the most effective tools used in the prevention of forest fires.
