been negotiating for some time, require an adjustment of a strip of land which amounts to 17.102 acres. It was decided to adopt the motion to resurvey the land taking into account the proper adjustment in order to move ahead toward the purchase of the property.
Superintendent of Rappahannock County Public Schools David M. Gangel spoke briefly to the supervisors at the afternoon session to bring the board up to date on the school water situation and the possibility of the county working with the school system to contract a performance contractor for the purpose of assessing ways to lower the cost of operations at the schools.
Gangel said there have been new controls put on the elementary school water system and the water was chlorinated over the weekend. He added that the water was to be checked Tuesday and then chlorinated again. After that he will be checking with the Board of Health as to the condition of the water.
He also said the cost of a regular chlorination process has been worked into the school budget at about $3,000 per school.
The board agreed to consider reasons for having a performance contractor come in to advise the schools on such issues as a boiler replacement at the high school and upgrading the lights and windows to save on energy costs.
