John Fisher, 48, was driving east on U.S. 211 in a 1994 Ford Escort, about two miles west of Country Manor in Sperry ville, when he hit a patch of ice and slid off the right side of the road over an embankment. Mr. Fisher said that there was ice on the top of the mountain, then it was clear, and when he came around a turn he started sliding and could not stop. He was not injured. The car was turned over on its right side over the bank, and was pulled out by a tow truck from B & B in Sperryville. It appeared to have minor damage. Trooper W.A. Sumner investigated the accident.
