Getting Ready

The RCHS wrestling team is getting ready for a tournament with 20 other teams to be held at Hylton High School near Woodbridge this Saturday.
In that meet, said Coach Paul Paratore, each wrestler will have the opportunity to wrestle three or four time. He said that his team has only wrestled for one year, and he sees them becoming very competitive in another two or three years. "For a first year program I have nothing but praise for these kids," he said.
The RCHS wrestlers have been going up against established teams, with kids who may have started wrestling in middle school, like the Brentsville team.
In a meet with Strasburg last Wednesday, RCHS scored 47 to Strasburg's 92. In a regular match, there are 13 weight classes with a maximum score of six for each match, for a total of 78 points. With Strasburg, however* there were extra matches which accounted for the higher scores.
Five wrestlers had pins that night — Chad Heddleston, Mark Komar, Tommy Baldwin, Thomas Lee and Willie t Collins. Chad won both his matches, 1 and Jason Kuykendall and Adam f; Rogers each won one and lost one. | This Saturday's meet begins at 8 # m. The last wrestling meet for the seaf’tfon will be held at Randolph Macon % Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 11.
