The standard suggestion is to caulk around the windows and doors, but that alone doesn’t seem to keep them outdoors. Better advice is to keep the ladybugs out of the house in the autumn by spraying the windowsills and doorways with ant and roach killer that has a residue for four to six weeks. The ladybugs do not like the smell and will avoid it. Spraying doesn’t help much once they are inside, since they will mostly seem to disappear until the weather warms in the spring.
