Several reminders to citizens are in order for this
week the most important of which is about taxes.
The deadline to file your federal income tax forms is April 15 — that’s a week away. And, as it happens, that is also the deadline to get your county sticker — without penalty that is. The Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office has assured us they will be on the lookout for expired stickers. Forewarned is forearmed, right?
The deadline for the Trash Free Rappahannock campaign is just 10 days away, so get those bags registered. We know from speaking with Hunt Harris that many who have registered have not yet gotten their bag count in (they’re looking to a grand finale he thinks) but the count so far is between 700 to 800 and that’s well below the 3,333 bag goal.
The annual Fodderstack 10K Race is also coming up April 25 and registration is underway. This is the 20th year for the event which makes it a very special year indeed. Applications are available from the Rappahannock Recreation Authority, RO. Box 124, Flint Hill, 22627 or the County Administrator’s office, P.O. Drawer 519, Washington, Va. 22747, or drop by that office to pick one up. April 18 is the deadline, so don’t wait.
