Robert (Bob) Hunter Rutherford, 65, of Huntly died Thursday, April 2 unexpectantly at his residence.
Mr. Rutherford was Jan. 2, 1933 in Flint Hill, son of Nannie Virginia Leake. He was a life long resident of Rappahannock County and retired from William A. Hazel Construction Company.
Surviving along with his mother, are his wife of 45 years Lucy Frye Rutherford; daughters Betty J. West of Rockland and Lorrie Tharpe of Egypt Farm; sister Mary Ann Leake of Sperryvillej brothers Thomas Leake of Chester Gap and James Leake of Sperryville; grandsons Brian and Aaron West of Front Royal, Richard Cooper and Tony Tharpe II of Egypt Farm; granddaughters Kaitlyn Cooper and Lauren Tharpe of Egypt Farm; great grandchildren Melissa West and Cody Cross of Front Royal.
Mr. Rutherford was predeceased by his step father James W. Leake.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Turner Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal with the Rev. Merlin Shorb officiating. Burial was in Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Bubby Settle, Jim Donovan, Joel Soorenko, Mark Steele, Brian West and Aaron West.
