Rappahannock’s Jeanne McNear has been the area representative for Youth for Understanding International Exchange for four years. She has had nine foreign exchange students in her home since 1984 and recommends the experience to all.
She is now looking for host families for this year. She has one family set up to host a student but needs four more for the county. Rappahannock usually hosts four or five exchange students per year.
“I have enjoyed doing this a lot,” McNear said. “I find the families, place the students and act as representative for them during their year here. If they have questions, need additional help, have problems, I help them. We also have orientations throughout
