Technical Research and Report Writing. He said he was surprised with his second place win out of all the others who competed.

At the middle school level Rappahannock had quite a few students who placed at the state level. Heather Hensley placed third in Video Challenge and was a Manufacturing Challenge finalist. Brandon Dawson also placed third in Video Challenge and was a Tech Bowl finalist and a Structural Challenge finalist.

Houston Haynes and John Ferdetta both place third in Mechanical Challenge. Haynes also placed as a finalist in Inventions and Innovations and Manufacturing Challenge. Ferdetta placed as a finalist in System Control and Structural Challenge. Justun Clarambeau and Elliot Nichols both placed as finalists in System Control. Clarambeau placed as a Manufacturing Challenge finalist and Nichols as a Tech Bowl finalist as well.
