New Baltimore for nine years and as a support supervisor with a contractor for the Federal Aviation Agency for nine years. He joined the Emporium as the manager in 1995.
He describes his wife Martha Lou O’Bannon Hitt as the “pillar of the business.” She grew up in Woodville, graduated from RCHS and went on to graduate from James Madison University in 1975. She worked for the Rappahannock School Board Office for two years and then joined the Emporium as a bookkeeper where she has remained for 22 years.
She plans her time well since she also manages their farm in Woodville where she breeds and trains foxhunting horses and cares for 100 head of cattle.
