The “Gospel Trails” of Alexandria will be in full concert on May 17 at 3 p.m. at Amissville Bethel Baptist Church to benefit the cemetery committee. Deacons Fred Morgan and Kelly Edwards, who are sponsoring the group', invite everyone to come for the morning worship service, stay for lunch, and enjoy the concert. Deacon Edward King will be M.C. for this event. Rev. Forrest Freeman is pastor.
May 3 through May 8 is “Teacher Appreciation Week”. We salute all the men and women who take the time to plan exciting lessons, challenge our children to the best they can be, grade papers, give tests, stay after hours for tutoring or sports, plan the field trips, and, especially, for caring. Thank You.

When I was bragging on our pretty ladies here in Amissville winning or placing in the Rappahannock pageant, I didn’t realize Miss Emily Carter won in the Wee Miss 57 age group. Congratulations to Emily and also to Miss Megan Early who was second runner up.
Jeff Rechin of Amissville won top honors at the Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition held in Ocean City, Md., April 24-26! Visitors and carvers from all over the world attend the competition hosted by the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art in Salisbury, Md. The Ward World Championship is recognized as the largest and most prestigious wildfowl carving competition in the world, and has attracted the best wildfowl carvers since its inception in 1971.
