“One lady used to meet Robert on her front steps every day, and one day she wasn’t out there. Robert knew that she was at home, so he knocked on the door, called out her name and eventually found a way to get into the house. He found that she had fallen on the stairs and was unable to get up. Robert called for help. He probably saved that lady’s life.”
Fox has also been active in his community of Sperryville in Rappahannock County devoting time to help rebuild the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church. The ceremony held Thursday, April 23 was not for Fox’s retirement. “It was a celebration of his 50 years of service to this country,” Dean related, “but Robert intends to keep on going.”
