Glassworks Gallery is hosting “Faces and Places” an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Michelle M. Powell.
Artists like John Singer Sargent and the Flemish Master Vermeer have been Powell’s compass. She works in many media, but most consistently in color pencil or oil. Working every day, often in her front yard or on the porch for the light, is a discipline that was acquired from her professor years ago. “I was privileged to study under some very gifted people — more is definitely better in this case,” she said.
