In addition to Forrester, Lion Bob and Virginia Scott presented a humorous little skit entitled “Friendship” which might have been intended to indicate that friendship is all that is needed to make it through 60 years of marriage — which is what they will soon celebrate. Before that, Lion Norman Getsinger thrilled the audience with his presentation of Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), “in character” and “in voice”. Lion Roger Andrews presented the club history, including information on how the International Association of Lions Clubs got started in Chicago in 1917. He went to tell the group about the founding of “Rappahannock Lions in March of 1958 by 28 dedicated souls and how the struggles down through the years, and that dedication and hard work kept the club going even when the going got tough.
