A BELIEF SYSTEM Everyone should take stock of him or herself every so often and compile a list of things in which he or she strongly believes. Those who subscribe to creeds consisting of, benevolent and enlightened beliefs can use them to illuminate their way when their paths become darkened. Take, for instance, the creed espoused by the AngloAmerican writer Thomas Paine: "I believe in one God and no more, and I hope for happiness beyond this life. I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy." If we were all to adopt these precepts, there would be little distinction between heaven and earth. Focusing one's life efforts on what one values most is one of the characteristics of highly effective people, which Stephen Covey has so successfully noted. Yet how hard giving ourselves permission to do what we value most can be! Sometimes a loss of a loved one provides the refocusing that allows us to put our time where our heart is. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton, we take care of the details that can really burden you during a time of loss. Our spacious, peaceful surroundings make you feel at home. If you have questioas about our services call us at 347-3431.
"What a man believes may be ascertained, not from his creed, but from the assumptions on which he habitually acts."
