Congratulations to Aline Johnson who was selected to fill the unexpired term on the Rappahannock School Board in the Piedmont District. The position was created by the resignation of Dennis Wingfield.

Aline wishes to thank everyone for their support and welcomes all comments and concerns. She hopes that you will continue to support her in the special election scheduled for November.

The community at large wishes her the very best.

Robert Fox was honored on Thursday, April 23 with a gala celebration at the Warrenton Post Office for his 50 years of service to government services - 20 years in the army and 30 in the Warrenton Post Office.

Family and friends from the Sperryville area attended and we extend to Mr. Fox our congratulations as he continues his service.

The Administrative Board of the Sperryville United Methodist Church met Thursday night at the home of Nelson and Pearl Nethers.

Those present were Rev. Merlin Shorb, Buck and Geraldine Payne, Gray Armistead, Margaret Ann Wayland, Kim Kilby, Phyllis Swindler, Emma Swindler and Polly Aylor.

Mrs. Catherine Brown spent last week with Dr. and Mrs. Larry Kushner in Gaithersburg, Md.

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is seeking contestants for Honorary Fire Queen of their annual firemens carnival, June 3, 4, 5 and 6. Individuals nine to 18 years of age that are interested should contact Greg or Teresa at 987-9204.
