ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID
The Rappahannock County Board is soliciting bids from licensed Class A Virginia General Contractors for the renovation of four student restrooms and four adult restrooms at the elementary school, renovations of two student restrooms and one adult restroom at the high school, and reroofing of the high school shop building. Sealed bids will be received by Dr. David Gangel, Superintendent, on May 28, 1998, at the Office of the Rappahannock County Board, 6 Schoolhouse Road, Washington, Virginia 22747, until 2:00 p.m., at which time an bids will be publically opened and read aloud.
Contract Documents may be obtained from Wise and Associates, Consulting Engineers, 11 Ridgetop Drive, Weyers Cave, Virginia 24486, telephone (540) 234-8474, fax (540) 234-8704. A payment of $75.00 will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Contract Documents relumed in good condition within 10 days of bid ‘opening will qualify for a refund of $75.00. No refunds will be made for Contract Documents which .are not returned prepaid, or returned more than ,10 days after bid opening, or returned in a market -of deteriorated condition.
'A prebid conference will be held at the School Board Office on May 20, 1998, at 2:30 p.m., at .which time the Owner and the Engineer will an.swer questions from prospective bidders concerning the project. Bidders are not required to be present, but are strongly encouraged to attend the conference. The Agreement requires substantial completion of the work prior to the opening of school for the 1998 fall session.
Each bid must be accompanied by bid security made payable to Owner in the amount of five (5%) percent of Bidder's maximum bid price and in the form of a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of the General Conditions.
