With 50 years of federal service behind him — 20 years in the army and 30 in the Post Office in Warrenton — Robert Fox shows no sign of slowing down.
“Around here we say that he carries circles around men half his age, and that’s true,” said Warrenton postmaster Rickey Dean.
“I may go another 50 years,” Fox joked, “I figure that the tough part is over. The rest should be like going downhill.”
Fox served in the front lines in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star.
“Robert is great,” Dean said. “He’s never sick, he’s always here and he carries one of the larger routes in the town.” In the ‘70s Fox was accompanied by a dog named Fluffy who walked the route with him.
