board had asked the board of supervisors to approve the resolution: problems with current usage of areas at the high school; scheduling problems for students and curriculum cuts; planned growth for the vocational education program; space and staff problems due to SOL requirements; and future growth.
Peter Kreyling, a member of the citizens advisory committee which studied the expansion, said that the committee had liked the idea of the middle school concept but clearly the cost was prohibitive for this county. He said they felt the expansion was the best solution at this point.
