me upcoming meals tax referendum was discussed. The tax may not exceed 4 percent. The maximum percentage of tax would generate about 2 cents on the real estate tax rate. If the county also imposed a lodging tax, for which they do not need a referendum, it would generate additional revenue and would mostly affect people who do not live here.
