Board chair Charles K. “Pete” Estes said he had problems with the amount of funds outlined for athletic fields and suggested a figure of $2.5 million. Frazier made a motion to approve the $2.5 million figure and Estes seconded the motion but it was voted down. Massie motioned for approval of the $3 million figure and the board approved it with Frazier voting no.
Bond counsel Carolyn Perry explained the procedure for the sale and said Oct. 9 is the deadline, after that there is no backing out. They expect an interest rate below 4.92 percent (the spring sale percentage) and things in the bond market look very favorable she said.
