Clearly, if we, as a people, ever find ourselves in a position where we need to consider proceeding down this perilous path, it will be incumbent on our representatives to consider all possible consequences. For it could conceivably lead to frustration of the will of those of our citizens whose suffrage has elevated one of their own to the highest executive office. Such an outcome would lead to weakening of confidence and of support for their government by large numbers of our people.
