Jane Kilby of Sperryville will receive the Good Citizen Award given each year to a senior student at Rappahannock County High School. The award is presented by the Culpeper Minuteman Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and selection is based on dependability, leadership, service and patriotism. Miss Kilby is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kilby of Sperryville. Officers of Amissville Ruritan Club for the coming year were installed at last Wednesday’s meeting by Zone 8 Governor, Alton Atwood. They are Nelson Burner, president; Edward Lawrence, vice president; Charlie Priest, treasurer; Jerry Curtis, secretary and SJ). Hulton, Director for three years. The holiday spirit is aroused in everyone and in keeping with the season Home Ec students at Rappahannock County High School have been receiving instruction in Christmas cooking and decorating. Dorothy Deal, Joyce Dodson, Dale Woodward and Betty Lou Atkins were pictured with some of the candles and table decoration class members have made. Miss Jane Coleman is the teacher ill these classes. Radioman Second Class Ernest F. Clater, USN, has been awarded a Meritorious Mast for his work as a Teletypewriter Operator in the Defense Communications Agency Operations Center in Arlington. He is the son of Mrs. James Clater of Sperryville.
