through these children, regardless of their individual level of talent. It is a thread that becomes apparent as one becomes more familiar with the institution and its young faces. It is a thread that is drawn directly from the Foundation’s motto: “We nurture children . . .”
Whether it was Dietlinde Maazel directing her charges in the performance of “Emil ...” or setting stage lights with assistant Janet, or teachers Kate and Page tending to the children, or Kitty leading the kindergarten circle, or Beth leading the choir, there is nurturing apparent and in abundance.
There is nurturing in the motto and in fact, and the nurturing can be seen in the faces and in the actions of the children—they appear comfortable and secure and well cared for. They seem oblivious to the multimillion dollar edifice that is their theater, but not to the warmth and understanding of those who built it and those who work within.
