Through his church ministries Rev. Bailey has been very active serving in our community. He conducts a monthly Bible study at the Rappahannock County Jail along with the men of the church and he does the same bi-monthly at the Lynn Care Nursing Home in Front Royal. His lighter side comes out in the annual Washington Baptist Church Variety Show which he helped start three years ago and which is held at The Theatre at Washington and is open to the public.
On the personal side, Rev. Bailey has fell in love with Rappahannock County and its beauty and the people living here. He enjoys the small town life and the personableness of the area. The ecumencity of the local churches has also been a great appeal to him, especially the joint Vacation Bible School with Trinity Episcopal Church and the annual Lenten services.
He would like to share with the community the following story and thought for the Christmas holidays which he read in a fellow pastor’s church newsletter. In the year 1247, an order of priests and nuns called “The Brothers and Sisters of Bethlehem” moved from Bethlehem to London and established a priory, which included a convent, a monastery, a place of worship and a place of work.
