2000. Why do this? Why take time out of your life to record in some way what people and organizations are doing, or their observations on things? Three reasons:
First, there is a sense of immortality in having something you prepared placed in a secure archive for use by people in the future. Your name will be on it. People have an endless curiosity about history, and your work might appear in some future book or documentary.
Second, a benchmark will be set up against which future changes in the county can be measured.
And third, for one year in your life you may open your eyes and ears to life around you and note things you were never aware of before. It might change your whole attitude on life, away from always rushing about,, making money, and buying endless things, toward a better understanding of nature and people.
