At the last Board of Supervisors meeting an open hearing was held to discuss the proposed six year plan by the Virginia Department of Transportation for Fauquier and Rappahannock counties. The plan will take effect July 1, 2000. Bob Moore, the resident engineer for the two counties, attended and spoke regarding developments and changes to the plan. Three residents from Castleton attended the meeting to request improvements to Route 615.
One of these residents, Dorothy Scott, uses Route 615 for commuting to her job at the Culpeper hospital. She says, “I have to go that way to work. This is the shortest way for me.”
Recently, the windshield of Scott’s car was shattered due to vibrations while driving on Route 615. The gravel road is lined with grooves that become ditches after heavy rains. Scott says, “The road’s been getting worse. It
