The RRPDC, responsible for the counties of Rappahannock, Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Orange, has $250,000 in funding this fiscal year and had $200,000 last fiscal year to meet the objectives of the Regional Competitiveness Program.
It is charged, under the program, with developing a regional strategic economic development plan in which key economic and demographic trends are analyzed, and that addresses “the critical issues of economic competitiveness.” The plan developed must be adopted by all localities in the planning district.
