The highlight of the night however, was the shooting exhibition put on by Chris Fletcher, a senior in his final game as a Panther basketball player.
Chris Fletcher would be nominated by Coach Dayton for consideration as a first or second team, All Bull Run District player at a coach’s meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
He would not get enough votes to be selected, but he ' played the game on Tuesday night, twenty four hours before that nomination, as if to show that Madison team that he deserved the honor. Despite some of the same problems that have plagued the Panthers all season long, they played hard and Fletcher showed the Mountaineers how to score some points.
With five 3 pointers and 7 free throws, Chris led all scorers on the floor that night with 30 points. It was also a tough game and the last for Seniors, B.J. Christian, Daniel Dart, and Mark Wharton, in addition to Fletcher. . The Varsity finished the season 3-18 overall, 2-10 in the Bull Run District, and 0-1 in the District tournament.
