Our condolences go out to the family of Mrs. Sharon Shanks Person, a native of Reva, who passed away at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth last Wednesday. She was a retired Petty Officer, Second Class in the U.S. Navy. Funeral services were held Monday at Canaan Baptist Church.
Salem Fire Department on Route 522 will be the setting for a retirement celebration, Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m. to honor Mrs. Virginia Jessup who will be retiring on March 1, after 25 years of faithful and dedicated service with the Child Development Center.
