After several weeks of dialogue between the RCHS Athletic Director and the AD’s of the four Fauquier „ County Middle Schools, the situation surrounding the start-upT of a Junior Panther (6th, 7th, and 8th graders) Soccer Program remains uncertain. « Earlier this year, members of the Rappahannock County Soccer League (RSL) had approached the High School Athletic Director requesting that we explore the possibility of starting a Junior Panther Soccer Team.
The new team would provide a competitive environment for young soccer athletes that would continue their development prior to reaching the RCHS Varsity program. Neighboring Fauquier County is starting a middle school soccer league this year involving their four county middle schools i.e., Marshall Middle School, Warrenton Middle School, Cedar Lee Middle School, and T.C. Taylor Middle School.
Our goal was to be a noncounty opponent for each of their teams. The latest conversations last week between Mr. Jon Smythe from RCHS and the middle school athletic directors in Fauquier County revealed the following situation:
