I am shocked at the unreasoning, antagonistic, and uncivil expressions and attitude of Ms. Pond in her response to Mr. Bird. At no time did Ms. Pond discuss any part of the voting crisis that faces the Nation. To pretend it does not exist is even more distressing £o reasoning people.
Tn contrast, Mr. Bird was calm and non'accusatory, opening an important subject to [civil discussion-a much needed part of [democracy. ; How does Ms. Pond explain: ■ • Republicans are always insisting on the Rule of Law. How could it be that Vice President Gore was acting out-of-order when he uses legal action and Governor Bush has his stable of lawyers enacting endless deterrents to counting an incomplete vote count of staggering proportions in Florida?
