Fodderstack Race scheduled

The 23rd annual Fodderstack 10KM Classic race will be held on Saturday, April 21 beginning at 10 a m. The event is organized by the Rappahannock Recreational Facilities Authority and sponsored by The Inn.

The race begins in Flint Hill on Route 522 at The Warehouse and ends at the courthouse in Washington, via the Fodderstack Road. Pre-registration is $10 by mail postmarked no later than April 14. There is also a family rate available. Post registration is $20, no later than 9:30 on the morning of the race.

For additional information call 675-7171 or pickup a race pre-registration form at the Rappahannock County Administrator’s Office on Gay Street in Washington. Local businesses donating prizes this year include: Middleton Inn; Bienvenue Knoll; Flint Hill Public House; Country Cafe, 4&20 Blackbirds and Rae’s Place and Deli.

This weekend at Blue Moon

Musical line-up for the Blue Moon Cafe this weekend on Saturday night include Jimmy Gaudreau and Moondi Klein. Jimmy Gaudreau has been one of the premier sidemen in demand for the more than 30 years he has spent as a professional musician.

Moondi Klein grew up in Manhattan and . along witb his brother Adam, joined the Metropolitan Opera’s Children’s Chorus before they were 10 years old. Come see the group at Blue Moon Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Playgroup forming

Children and parents are invited to the Rappahannock Park for a Friday morning playgroup at 10 a.m. beginning on March 2, weather permitting. For additional information call Kathy at 937-5681.

Cancer forum rescheduled

Due to the snow storm last week, the Rappahannock Chapter of the American Cancer Society has rescheduled its cancer forum for March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church.

Dr. Werner Krebser will speak on the cause, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. All are invited.
