Work by 21 professional printmakers from Virginia will go on display March 4 through April 1 at The Middle Street Gallery in Washington.
Although the ONE/OFF Printmaking group has had group shows in Europe, South America, as well as across Virginia, this special exhibition is the first time their collective work has been shown in the Northern Virginia Piedmont area.
An artists’ reception will be held at the Gallery from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 4.
ONE/OFF began organizing collective exhibitions in 1983 with the intention of introducing the expressive possibilities of the various print media to a broader audience. The technical and aesthetic concerns of the members are diverse and representative of the innovative approaches that characterize developments in contemporary printmaking.
The artists of ONE/OFF work with the processes of etching, screen printing, lithography, and relief, singularly and in combination, and frequently one of a kind elements in their prints. The Middle Street Gallery is an artist-run, non-profit gallery, located next to The Inn at Little Washington in Washington, and is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday through Sunday, year around.
