We all loved to sleigh ride during the day and on occasions we would build a bon fire and sleigh ride at night.
The sleds we used then are antique now because they were made of wood, not plastic. If the temperature was right, either will give you a good ride on a steep hill.
It was fun to build a snowman using our imagination. We would decorate him with scarf, hat, sticks for the arms and different size buttons for his eyes, nose and coat. We thought he looked pretty good once we were through, and hoped the sun would not cause him to melt away too soon.
I’ve mentioned before we did not have refrigeration, so when a big snow came it gave us an opportunity to have homemade snow cream. I’m sure a lot of you have never heard of this. It was a real treat.
Since the weather did not help us out this time, be sure to keep the recipe until our next big snow so you can try it.
