Center accepts
oil, anti-freeze
Effective immediately, the Flatwood Refuse & Recycling Center now accepts used motor oil and anti-freeze for recycling.
Holiday closings
County government offices will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans’ Day. The Rappahannock National Bank, F&M Bank and area post offices will also be closed.
Headwaters
Board to meet
The November Board of Directors meeting for Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, will take place Monday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Extension Office. The meeting is open to the public.
Gateway meeting
slated for Nov. 15
A Sperryville Gateway meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall for the purpose of discussing final stages of the Gateway project. For additional information call Tom Junk at 987-8617.
RLEP to
meet Monday .

The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will meet at the County Library on Monday, Nov. 12. Members and nonmembers are cordially invited. The business meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the nomination and election of a new RLEP vice president. The lighting and sludge ordinances and the status of the cell towers’ process will be discussed. In addition, organizational aspects for the coming year will be decided by the new Board of Directors.
At the close of the business part of the meeting, the attending public is invited to participate in a discussion of environmental issues ' affecting the county. These may • include the Clevenger’s Comer • Development; Page County’s I hauling trash on our roads, scenic • basements and other conservation tools, and programs that RLEP may sponsor to better inform county residents about our quality of life and maintaining our county’s rural and scenic beauty.
