Rappahannock Youth Soccer League played its eighth weekend of games, Nov. 3. For most teams, it was their last game of this fall season.
U-8’s Orange Crush played against Rapp U-8 Coach Letsen’s team Saturday morning. Billy Hogan and Patrick Foley played an aggressive game.
Coach Letsen’s team was led by outstanding plays on both ends of the field by Henry Miller scoring two goals and K.T. Milan having an all around great game. With one more game to play next weekend, Coach Letsen’s U-8 remains undefeated.
The Rappahannock boys U12 team played their final game of the season against Coach Casillas’ U12 Culpeper team, ending another hard fought game with an 0 - 3 loss and finishing the season with a 2-5-1 record. Fullbacks Keenan Sherwood and Gavin Forest played another strong defensive game, and halfbacks Sean Mullan and Brian Ross kept the pressure on the other team until the final whistle.
All the players have come together as a team and never quit trying, win or lose. The coach is quite proud of the team, even though th^y dumped a bucket of ice water on his head after the game, and hopes to see everyone back for the County team in the Spring; go Green Dragons,go!
Coach Oz’s U-10 team won their last game of the season. Scorers for the team were Brian Shafran and Zack Wayland. Again the entire team contributed to this win. Thanks and appreciation go out to Coach Oz whose coaching and guidance helped each player improve their soccer skills throughout the season. The team oq,ly lost one game this year and that was their very first game.
