He suggested school officials have veterans speak to the students and otherwise aid them to be aware of our national values and freedoms, and how our veterans have contributed to them. As Principal of RCHS, I have announced “The Price of Freedom” is the theme for the week of Nov. 11-16. Students who attend churches or other gatherings on Nov. 11 are encouraged to make remarks on the subject to their groups. The highlight of the week will be a seminar in the school auditorium Tuesday morning, Nov. 13, led by veterans but encouraging free exchange of ideas with the students. During the remainder of the week teachers and students will incorporate into their studies any relationship that might exist between the subject matter and how the sacrifice of American veterans might have contributed to their studies. Students are also encouraged to write to one of the more than 64,000 hospitalized veterans, many of whom are permanently disabled. Veterans interested in participating should contact the high school at 987-8575. Their presence is desired. PUBLIC HEARING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR MONITORING THE STORAGE AND LAND APPLICATION OF SEWAGE SLUDGE The Rappahannock County Planning Commission
shall hold a pubic hearing on proposed language relating to regulation of the storage and land application of sewage sludge, as amendments to the Rappahannock County Code, on Wednesday, November 14, 2001, at 7:30 PM at the Courthouse in Washington, VA. The proposed Ordinance would take the place of a previously adopted absolute ban on such practices.
