A note of thanks’
Several Band members were able to participate in “Taste of Rappahannock" sponsored by Headwaters. Student responsibilities ranged from playing instruments to serving guests. The Band would like to express a sincere “thank you" to Headwaters for their wonderful donation and support!
We love a parade!
RCHS Band participated at the Festival of Leaves parade on Oct. 13. The RCHS band, under the direction of Lynne Fournier, marched the Front Royal parade for the second year in a row. This marked the end of their first six weeks of school which centered on marching and pep band.
Two senior drum majors. Wendy Gillis and Holly Long led the 38-piece band and color guard past cheering crowds. Gillis and Long trained at the prestigious Mid Atlantic and Leadership Camp at Ferrum College this summer under the guidance of Drum Major Nikki Gross. They lead the band in two selections. “Raiders' March" and “Drivin’ and Drummin”.
The later featured the percussion section, co-captained bv Brian Taylor, snare drummer and Josh McArthur on the quad drums. Both drummers attended the Ferrum and JMU camps for drum line instructions.
Kayla Hill, color guard captain, has trained twice at the Ferrum camp for this position. Lauren Kruczvnski shared the spotlight with Hill as they led the yourtg flag corps in their first
