Mr. Welch informed the Board and attendees that he would neither engage in discussions on nor would he vote upon the two applications, Huntly Silo and Welch Slope, that involve his mother's properties. He noted that that he was not legally precluded from doing so, but wished to avoid “the appearance of impropriety.”
Public comments and responses to them by Sprint PCS’ attorney, Brian Buniva, were true to form and reflected little that had not been stated in prior hearings.
Comments were again generally unfavorable toward the silos and to the lack of full cell coverage in Sprint PCS’ overall application, but the Board of Supervisors seemed supportive of the applications and voted unanimously, with the exception of Mr. Welch’s abstaining on the two Arland Welch sites, for their approval.
