owless scenes where the paint tends to come forward on the Mat canvas. While there are distinct portrayals of sky, mountains, trees and fields, most of the pictures on view in this show are not concerned to take one deeply into the scene.
One featured picture, “Western Sun” glows golden behind trees in a mountain setting. “Winter Remnant”, an acrylic and pastel of blues, pink, purple and gray, is especially successful in its subtle color combinations and seemingly fragile, bare trees.
Most of the pictures are framed in attractive walnut strips of wood that appropriately leave the images to speak for themselves.
